Zamfara Girls' Mary Johnson was the cynosure of all eyes after she helped her side demolish their Borno State counterparts 30-4 in the Milo Basketball Championship at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.
But the impressive Johnson refused to take credit for her side's fantastic outing.
"We have very many good players in the team, so it would be wrong for me to say I was the best because we play as a team," she said.
The SS1 pupil of Government Girls Day Secondary School, Zamfara, said the team performed well because they had trained so hard for the championship.
"We have undergone hard training because our coach makes us train with boys. We train twice a day and we are much disciplined. I am happy this is the result of our effort."
