At a first glance, I thought it was probably Wembley Stadium, but on a closer look, I beheld the new National Stadium Abuja! The photo published on "Expression", on the back page of The PUNCH of Friday, May 24,2013, showed the transformation of the sporting edifice. It is indeed heart-warming. The PUNCH deserves kudos for spotlighting the ruin at the stadium and also highlighting the renovation carried out by the ministry. The Minister of Sport should as well be commended for rising to the occasion, and for his prompt response. Now, I ask, where is the home of the Super Eagles? It is a game of Federal character, as the Eagles gallop between the North and South seeking match venues during important international matches. For now, the Eagles are like mercenaries hibernating in the various stadia across Nigeria. With the new glossy look of the Abuja stadium, let it be the permanent venue of Eagles' matches. I so move!
