Information and communications company, MTN Nigeria, has concluded arrangements to feature a globally-renowned business advisor, Dr. Ram Charan, in this year's edition of its annual Leadership Forum.
Charan will be meeting with top 200 chief executive officers and other senior executives of Nigeria's blue chip companies, technocrats, diplomats and academics, among others, MTN said in a statement on Monday.
Described by Fortune magazine as the most influential consultant alive, Charan, will be sharing some of his business insights garnered over 35 years of hands-on experience and teaching with exclusive gatherings of Nigeria's corporate and political leadership in Abuja on June 6 and Lagos on June 7.
He will be speaking on the theme, 'Private sector as the engine room for economic growth.'
Under the MTN Leadership series, the company had sponsored seminars featuring globally renowned speakers such as Les Brown, Chris Gardner, David Plouffe and, recently, Farrah Gray in a bid to inspire the local populace and help build local capacity for economic growth and development.
The Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Larry Annets, was quoted in the statement as saying that the choice of Charan this time was informed by his inspirational works in strategic business areas, especially strategy execution.
"Dr. Charan has rare insight into the knottiest of business problems," Annets said, adding, "We believe that a high-level networking experience involving this revered business expert and our corporate and political leadership can only be of immense benefits to our business community and the country as a whole."
Charan has worked behind the scenes with top executives at some of the world's most successful companies, including General Electric, Verizon, Novartis, Dupont, Thomson, Honeywell, KLM, Bank of America, Home Depot, and MeadWestvaco.
