Grand Oak Limited has held a ceremony to celebrate its outgoing Managing Director, Mr. Babatunde Bajulaye, who recently resigned as the boss of the marketing company after 20 years of service.
Friends, associates and members of Bajulaye's family were at the event, which took place on Friday in Lagos, to celebrate with the pioneer MD.
A statement by the marketing company stated that, the Chairman, Lexcel Group, Mr. Ola Rosiji, lauded Bajulaye for his immense contributions to the growth of the company since it was created out of Nigerian Distilleries Limited in 2007.
Rosaji said, "There is no better way to reward the excellent performance recorded by Mr.BabatundeBajulaye, who made up his mind to join NDL 20 years ago from UAC in 1993, and rose through the ranks to become the Managing Director of Grand Oak Limited.
"We wish him well in his future endeavours and pray that God will continue to guide him as he sets out to pursue other things in life."
Bajulaye's successor, Mr.Akshay Kumar, said although he had known the former MD for only five months, he was convinced that he was a thoroughly bred marketing professional who knew his onions in the business.
"When I came and had discussions with him, I realised that he is a great achiever. You can see the passion that drives every other employee under his care," Kumar said.
Presenting the citation of the former managing director, the Commercial Director, Grand Oak Limited, Mr.FataiOdesile, said Bajulaye made the company a leading marketing company in the wines and spirits business.
Bajulaiye holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of Ibadan and MBA in Marketing from the University of Lagos.
The statement added that Bajulaiye joined Nigerian Distilleries Limited as Head, Sales and Marketing in 1993 from UAC of Nigeria Plc, where he was Sales and Marketing Manager.
He became Sales and Marketing Director of NDL in 1994. He was later appointed Managing Director, Grand Oak Limited in 2007.
He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management as well as the National Institute of Marketing, Nigeria.
