A Chief Magistrate's court, Yaba, Lagos struck out an armed robbery case on Monday after the prosecution could not present any witness and the Investigation Police Officer had stopped coming.

Magistrate S.K Matepo noted that the case had dragged on for about a year with the prosecution officer asking for more adjournments despite failing to present any witness in court.

Matepo therefore ruled that the two accused persons, Chibuzor Ojimba, 23 and Uche Nwoka, 18, who had claimed to be without parents or relatives, be relieved of the charges levelled against them.

The two men had been arraigned for using locally made pistol and other dangerous weapons to dispossess one Chidi Eze of N70,000.

In a similar matter, the magistrate released one Lekan Salisu who had been in prison custody for about seven months for being in possession of a substance suspected to be Indian hemp.
