A 19-year-old boy, Jude Emoabino, has been arraigned before the Oshodi Magistrate's court for allegedly stealing packets of LAGBUS tickets valued at N25,000.
Emoabino was said to have stolen the tickets on the evening of May 16, at the under-bridge bus-stop, Oshodi, Lagos, where the vehicles, owned by TUC Transport Ltd, were parked.
The act was said to have contravened section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
When the charge was read, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the crime.
He had no counsel to defend him, just as the prosecution counsel, Mr. Olatunde Kehinde, could not present the investigation police officer.
The Magistrate, Mr. Akeem Fashola, granted Emobiano bail in the sum of N10,000, with one surety in like sum.
Meanwhile, two other men, Yohanna David, 25, and Okiriko Raphael, 26, were arraigned for stealing a Nokia phone valued at N26, 000.
The charge sheet showed that both men had allegedly crept into the residence of an Air force man on the April 27 to perpetrate the crime.
The charge sheet read in part, "That you, Yohanna David, m, and Okoriko Raphael, m, on the 27th day of April, 2013 at Airforce Base, Shogunle, Oshodi in the Oshodi Magistrate District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 409 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011"
They pleaded not guilty to the three counts.
The magistrate granted them bail in the sum of N20,000 each with a surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned till June 6.
