The Chairman of AMMASCO International Limited, Mr. Ado Mustapha, has suggested that the Federal Government should create the enabling environment for more companies by building more refineries.

He also called on the government to reduce import duties on some vital goods and ban all substandard imported engine oil.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja during a customers' forum organised by the company recently, he said more refineries would ensure the provision of raw materials for lubricant makers and jobs for the teeming unemployed Nigerian youths.

According to Mustapha, the AMASSCO example has created thousands of jobs since its beginning in 2008.

On the customers' forum, the AMMASCO chair said he was happy to meet with the company's stakeholders, especially the distributors and end users, adding that the feedback from the market was "very encouraging".

The Marketing Manager of the company, Abubakar Mattazu, said the forum "is a platform where we bring ourselves together and appraise all those who have contributed towards the development and growth of our company at all levels in the year under review."

He said the company within two years of its operation had received the NIS award from the Standards Organisation of Nigeria.

He also said that the company had in place an automated system to enhance the production of 50 milliom metric tonnes of lubricants from 10 million.

The event featured the presentation of awards to the distributors drawn from over 20 states, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso.
