It was all fun and the crème of the society gathered. It was the Ovation magazine's annual red ball carol, which held last Friday in Lagos. Unlike previous years, this edition was laced with an award ceremony.
Tit bits
Rotimi Amaechi was here
The Rivers State governor was the only governor in attendance at the ball. He did have a fun filled time and departed shortly after presenting an award to the former Minister of Power, Professor Barth Nnaji.
Segun Osoba steps out with son
Quite unlike him, former Ogun State governor was present without his better half, Derin. He came with his son, Olumide instead. The 35-year-old represents the Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Funmi Iyanda's new look
The broadcaster was at the event looking very different-she wore a low afro hair style. Even her choice of dress screamed bohemian. Her jewellery? It was Grecian inspired.
Timi Dakolo, the 'survivor'
The talented singer who won the maiden edition of West African Idols came with his wife, Busola. He had cause to thank God. On December 15, he was rumoured to have been on board the naval helicopter that crashed and killed the Kaduna State governor, Patrick Yakowa and five others. Almost everybody greeted Timi and thanked God on his behalf. Afterwards, he performed one of his songs, which earned him a standing ovation.
Deji Adeleke backs Davido
He is the billionaire father of hip hop artiste, David Adeleke, a.k.a Davido. The Osun State-born moneybag whose business empire spans banking, energy, steel, education etc., was at the ball to support his son who was a recipient of an award.
