AN industrialist, Dr. Chike Obidigbo, has urged Anambra people to support the call by Governor Peter Obi that the next governor of the state should come from Anambra North Senatorial zone.
Obidigbo, who is the Chairman of the Anambra/Enugu/Ebonyi branch of the Manufacturers' Association of Nigeria, said in a statement on Thursday that zoning the governorship to Anambra North would bring an end to the desperation in the politics of the state.
Obidigbo said the call became necessary in view of pockets of criticisms against power shift, stressing that the arrangement would curtail the excesses of political godfathers in Anambra State.
He said, "Certain developments in our polity tend to suggest that there are still few people who do not feel comfortable with justice and fairness."
He added that those criticising Governor Peter Obi for the power shift declaration were ill-informed.
He pointed out that the governor's stand was based on fairness, equity, justice and good conscience that demands that Anambra North Zone should be supported to produce the governor in 2014.
