Follow @9jaLife THREE rusticated students of Federal University of Agricultural , Abeokuta (FUNAAB) and a computer graphic designer were among those paraded by the Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday, December 19, as they were alleged to have been members of a car-snatching gang who had been terrorising Ibadan city but residing in Abeokuta.. Speaking during a press briefing on the achievements of his command in the area of crime reduction, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Okoye Ikemefuna, told journalists that two of the suspects were arrested on Friday, December 7 by a team of anti-robbery detectives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran. According to the commissioner, the detectives acted onw a tip-off and arrested the two suspects at Camp area, Abeokuta with a Honda Accord car with registration number FKJ 923AU. He added that the suspects, during interrogation, confessed to belonging to a robbery syndicate, and revealed the names of two other members. Another Toyota Camry car with registration number AS 108 BDJ and a toy gun were also recovered, Mr Okoye said. He gave the names of the suspects as Akinwole Funsho (22), Samuel Fagbenle (22), Tomiwa Bajo (23) and Akinfenwa Muritala (24). In an interview with Crime Reports, one of the suspects, Funsho, who said he hailed from Ibadan in Oyo State but whose parents are based in Abuja, admitted committing the crime he was alleged to have said that he didn't know what else to do after his rustication. According to Funsho, "my father is a trader while my mother teaches. I was a student of FUNAAB studying Environmental Management before I was rusticated few months ago for misconduct. I was in 500 level then. "I started a robbery gang around September when I didn't know what else to do. I and two of my colleagues who were also rusticated and another guy came together and thought of what we could do. We decided to be snatching cars and went to buy a toy gun.
