Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Most Rev.  Nicholas Okoh, on Sunday, said the late Most Rev. Abiodun Adetiloye, would continue to be remembered for his efforts in evangelism and eradication of secret societies in the church.

The Archbishop in a statement on the death of Adetiloye, described him as "a battle-axe in God's hands, a missionary par excellence and the Apostle of time".

Adetiloye was the  Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) from 1988 to December  1999.

He died on Friday, 11 days to his 83rd birthday.

Okoh said, "Bishop Adetiloye, who was educated both locally and in the United Kingdom, became Bishop of Ekiti in 1970 where he faced head-long, the menace of secret societies and cults, first in Ekiti Diocese.

"He, not only made inroads but broke the backbone; with the result that today, secret societies and cults have nowhere to hide their heads in the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion)."
