THE Guardian's Wole Shadare and Roseline Okere recently bagged awards for excellent reporting. While Shadare won the prestigious 5th Nigeria Aviation Best Air Transport Reporter of the Year 2012, Okere bagged a special award from the Ministry of Trade and Investment for the best reporter of the year 2012.
Presenting the award to Okere, Minister for Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, lauded the contributions of The Guardian Newspapers for the development of the sector, adding that the award should spur her not to rest on her oars.
Presenting Shadare's award, NIGAV Award Committee Chairman and the Chief Executive officer of FCI International Ltd, Mr. Fortune Idu, said he emerged the "undisputed winner because of accuracy of reports and detailed research that he puts into many of his works."
Idu noted that the award was meant to encourage professionalism and excellence in air transport delivery, adding that putting Nigerian air transport on a pathway to recovery has become the main focus of the Federal Government and all the players in the Nigeria aviation sector.
