I vehemently disagree with the writer of the above titled piece in The Punch of December 12. It doesn't make sense for us to forget such a dark passage as the civil war and continue to live a lie. Indeed, it is when we cover up such issues that 'our generations yet unborn' would curse us. Prof Chinua Achebe has done us a great deal of good by making us search our conscience. People have written memoirs of evils in Cambodia, South Africa, Argentina, Cuba, among others and the heavens didn't fall. Why is Achebe's book giving some people sleepless nights?
