Partisan civil servants risk sacking – Ekiti

Head of Service in Ekiti State, Mr. Bunk Famosaya, on Monday, threatened that the state government would dismiss any worker found to be involved in partisan  politics.

The HOS spoke at a press conference to mark the 2012 Civil Service Week in Ekiti State.

He said, "The ethics are binding on all  civil servants. Particular  attention should be paid to political neutrality, anonymity, loyalty, honesty, impartiality and ordered line of communication.

"It is on this note that I wish to draw attention to the unethical conduct of some  civil servants who brazenly engage in partisan politics.

"For the umpteenth time, let me advise here that any civil servant who wants to participate in partisan politics should throw in the towel, otherwise anyone caught in unethical conduct shall be be shown the way out of the service."

He added that the government pays its workers "not only regularly but as and when due."

He said more than  80 per cent  of the civil servants who sat for the promotion examination on August 17, 2012 were successful and promised that their promotions  would soon be implemented.
