The Lagos State chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria has said the protests against restriction of commercial motorcyclists operations (okada) in the state have political undertone.
The party advised the sponsors of the protests to devise better ways of furthering their political interests than hanging on the okada tailboard for political gains.
In a statement by the state Publicity Secretary of the ACN, Joe Igbokwe, on Wednesday the party said one of such protests took place on Monday.
The party insisted that the state government acted in the best interests of Lagosians in restricting okada operations from the major and busy roads.
The party said, "Lagos ACN urges Lagosians to ignore these desperate politicians and their cohorts.
"We want Lagosians to know that the temporary pains that attended the okada ban is natural. Lagos State Government is working to ensure that these pains are mitigated."
