Nigeria will present a team drawn from the Nigeria Premier League for a January 2 friendly against Catalonia, officials have disclosed.
According to Nigeria Football Federation spokesman, Ademola Olajire, players from the NPL who do not make the final cut will then return to the country after the match.
Olajire added that the list of the Europe-based professionals for the 2013 African Nations Cup would be made public this week, while the technical department of the NFF had been working in place of the technical committee.
The pros, who have all received their invitation letters, are expected in Portugal from January 4.
Olajire said the team would now fly out of the country to Faro on Sunday.
A dinner to raise additional funds for the Super Eagles is planned for December 29 in either Lagos or Port Harcourt.
