The Nigeria Football Federation has dismissed the resolution of the Premier League Club Owners in dissolving the board of the Nigeria Premier League.
The PLCO removed the Rumson Baribote-led board on Wednesday and constituted a six-man Interim Committee to oversee the affairs of the NPL.
The NFF Executive Committee on Friday unanimously rejected the decision, saying the PLCO's action did not comply with the provisions of the NPL Statutes. The nation's football body, therefore, called for an immediate convening of the NPL Congress in line with the Statutes.
The NFF thus directed that the congress holds on or before December 11 in Abuja just as it nominated three of its members – Emeka Inyama, Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande and Shehu Adamu – to attend as observers.
