Nigerian Bar Association on Monday called on the Federal Government to thorough investigate the cause of the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa and former National Security Adviser Andrew Azazi in Bayelsa State on Saturday.
Four other persons, including the pilots of the helicopter, Cmdr. Muritala Daba Lt. Adeyemi Sowole, also died in the crash.
In a statement, the NBA President, Mr. Okey Wali, regretted the crash.
He said, "The NBA calls on the Federal Government to order a thorough investigation into the crash to determine the cause so as to avoid future occurrences of such an ugly incident."
The statement added, "It was with shock that we received the very sad news of the helicopter crash on December 15, 2012 at Okoroba, Nembe local Government, Bayelsa State, which claimed the lives of Governor Patrick Yakowa and Gen. Azazi along with others.
"The NBA mourns these perfect gentlemen.
"Yakowa epitomised of humility and Gen. Azazi an intelligence officer, exhumed intelligence, the brave pilot and the others that perished in that heart breaking crash, what great losses to our country."
