The Senator representing Osun-East Senatorial District Jide Omoworare, has said massive job creation will check growing insecurity and unemployment in the country.
Omoworare, who recently donated 11 vehicles, 22 motorcycles, 106 generators, 106 fans and 22 grinding machines to the people of Ijebu-Jesa constituency, added that nothing alleviates poverty better than employment.
The Senator spoke in Osogbo, on Wednesday, where he stressed the need for public-private cooperation in poverty alleviation and employment generation.
He said, “Employment generation remains the greatest tool for combating insecurity and poverty. Be this as it may, public-spirited individuals, corporate organisations and the wealthy in the society should lend a helping hand to the needy. By doing this, we would be reducing poverty in our land.”
According to him, the Action Congress of Nigeria has ensured development in the South-West, stressing that the region would have been “further impoverished were it still under the control of the Peoples Democratic Party”.
