I can't leave Rivers for any price – Ojokolo
Dec 4th 2012, 21:36

BY JACOB AJOM
Former National and African 100 meters champion, Endurance Ojokolo is not one given to pretence. She says it as it is -point blank, some would say. Endurance hails from Delta State. In her active days on the tracks she ran and won honours for her dear Delta.

As an Athletics coach, Endurance works for the fall of Delta as her products represents Delta's main rivals at the ongoing Eko 2012 Sports Festival, Team Rivers.

As the men's 400m heats were on, Ojokolo was on the stands cheering up her wards and shouting "go on boys! You can do it!"

Naturally, the question that followed was, "Endurance, why Rivers, and not Delta?"
She was blunt. "I go to where I am needed and I owe no one any apology for working for Rivers."

She sounded confident when asked about their level of preparedness for the Games. "We are very prepared. Government has done everything so; it is left for us to pay back the kind gesture. We had good training, good facilities and good coaches. If any state deserves to win this festival, it should be Rivers."

Endurance was full of gratitude to Rivers State government, saying, "for what Rivers has done, I cannot leave even if a state offers me N1million."
