Kogi State Government on Tuesday said it had not diverted donations received for flood disaster management in the state.
Deputy Governor Yomi Awoniyi, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Abu Michael, said the alleged mismanagement of the fund was untrue.
He also denied the allegations that he had bought the Grand Mirage Hotel and properties in Abuja.
He maintained that the donations received for the flood relief management were properly managed.
Awoniyi said it was also untrue that he and Governor Idris Wada were using state funds to acquire properties.
He advised those peddling false rumours against the state government to stop.
“To the mischiefmakers, it may appear we are not making progress, but all well-meaning citizens and people who have knowledge of the problems of the state know that we are doing a lot to create a platform for an orderly growth of the state based on best practices of modern governance,” Awoniyi said.
