Marketing and strategic planning expert cum Managing Partner, Bryon & Goldman Limited, Mrs. Ogechi Adeola, has tasked corporate organisations willing to achieve their goals to see strategic planning as an important tool for realising their objectives.
Speaking on the topic titled, 'Strategic Planning: Key to Achieving Organisational Goals" at the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria's 2012 annual public lecture and induction/upgrading of members in Lagos recently, Adeola said it was important to have the right corporate strategic direction (internal), be alert to competitors' moves (external), have good knowledge of environment (external), and evaluate strategy, in line with identified (relevant) indices.
The result, according to her, will be sustainable competitive advantage leading to creation of customer value, customer loyalty and retention; and revenue. This, he said, remained the end result of good strategic planning, as strategic planning is all about winning.
According to Eisenhower, plans are nothing, planning is everything. Therefore, he said, planning process must be well articulated, focused and properly monitored.
