The Governor of Bayelsa State, Mr. Seriake Dickson, on Monday named the former National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Gen. Owoye Azazi(retd), as the Chairman of the state's Post Flood Management Committee.
The former NSA was sacked shortly after he publicly traced the insecurity in the country to the internal wrangling in the ruling People Democratic Party at a retreat in Asaba, Delta State.
Dickson in a statement in Yenagoa, dissolved the Emergency Response Management Committee which was headed by his deputy, Mr. John Jonah.
He said the new committee would replace the Jonah-led panel which was used to manage the flood disaster in the state.
According to the statement, the Azazi-led committee would explore ways of supporting the flood victims.
