Drogba set to join Milan

AC Milan are preparing a sensational swoop for Didier Drogba in January, with Alexandre Pato and Robinho both making way for the Ivorian.

Drogba is reportedly unhappy at current club Shanghai Shenhua and is looking to engineer a move back to Europe and the Champions League, with many of the continent's top sides keen on his signature.

But according to Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport, AC Milan are leading the race for the former Chelsea striker, with top names Pato and Robinho both on their way out of the San Siro to help raise the funds for the Ivorian international.

Drogba is currently preparing for January's Africa Cup of Nations and has been training with Chelsea since the Chinese season ended in November, but despite reports linking him with a return to Stamford Bridge, it seems that AC Milan are preparing a move.

Striker Pato is set to complete a deal which will take him to Club World Cup champions Corinthians for €15m, while talks with fellow Brazilian Robinho are still on-going, with both Santos and Atletico Mineiro chasing the former Manchester City man.

And if both deals go through it could pave the way for Drogba to return to European football at the San Siro.
