Dec 29th 2012, 00:52

Business News (Aviation) — West Africa's leading e-airline, Aero has been awarded the Best Domestic Airline of the year 2012 by the Transport and Society Weekly Newspaper at its 2012 Transport Stakeholders Excellence Awards held in Lagos.
This is coming barely a month after the Airline won the Best West African Airline of the Year 2012 Award at the West African Tourism and Hospitality Awards.
Aero was awarded The Best Domestic Airline of the Year 2012 based on its existing record of safety and excellent customer satisfaction in air transport industry.
According to the organisers, “The excellence award was instituted to promote excellence and selfless service to fatherland with a view to encourage the rapid development of the transport sector by recognizing outstanding transport stakeholders who have exhibited unparalleled professional standards.” Aero was selected after an extensive survey through adverts in the Punch and in-house research of the Transport and Weekly Journal team.

Commenting on the award, the Acting Managing Director of Aero, Mr. Obaro Solomon Ibru, said: “We are pleased to have won the Best Domestic Airline of the year award.”
“Only recently, we won the Best West African Airline of the Year 2012 Award at the West African Tourism and Hospitality Awards. Our focus is to become the leading e-airline in Africa and these awards represent a true recognition of the front line products and services that Aero is delivering to its customers. We are in business to ensure that travel experience for travelers in Nigeria and other regions in Africa is such that can be compared to international standards. We are constantly extending the breadth and depth of our services to match the challenges in the industry.”
Aero has grown to be one of the most reputable regional carriers in West Africa operating over 50 daily flights with a fleet of modern Boeing 737s and Bombardier Dash 8.
The airline operates flights to major domestic destinations including Accra, Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri, Owerri, Uyo, Benin, Enugu and Kano, with plans to open more routes within Nigeria.-Thisdays
