Spain has condemned the recent terrorist attacks by Boko Haram in Borno State where 17 herdsmen were reportedly shot dead.
In a statement on Tuesday, Spain reiterated its support to Nigeria in the fight against terrorism.
The statement reads, "Spain condemns, in the strongest terms, the recent terrorist attacks perpetrated by the terrorist group, Boko Haram, in the Nigerian State of Borno, which caused the death of tens of people and injured many of them.
"The Government of Spain wishes to express its most heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and to the Nigerian people and authorities, due to this devastating situation. We also wish those injured a speedy recovery.
"Spain wishes to reiterate to Nigeria its support in the fight against the scourge of terrorism perpetrated by groups like Boko Haram, and has the confidence that this friendly nation will be capable of establishing a climate of religious tolerance, coexistence and social peace which its citizens deserve."
