Out-of-favour Super Eagles' striker, osaze Odemwingie, has completed his transfer to the English Premiership new boys, Cardiff City on a fee of £2.5million. Odemwingie signed a oneyear contract with an option of another year yesterday after passing a medical at the Millennium Stadium.
The former Lokomotiv Moscow striker arrived in Wales early in the morning yesterday to under a medical subject to signing the Cardiff contract. Sources close to the estranged Eagles striker said Odemwingie was believed to have struck personal terms with the Bluebirds yesterday and delighted to have completed the deal.
It was reported that Odemwingie was set to get his wish for an exit from West Brom granted after the Baggies on Monday gave the want-away striker the permission to speak with one of the clubs interested in his services; Cardiff City.
Top British media Sky Sports had reported that the Nigerian striker had already been given permission needed to speak to Cardiff City to avert a repeat of the QPR saga which ended in farce in January.
The Welsh side was earlier understood to be competing with Swansea and Stoke to land the winger. West Brom was believed to be holding out for a fee of over £2m for the Nigerian international.
Odemwingie has been frozen out by Steve Clarke since he tried to force a move to Queens Park Rangers in January and was subsequently punished for his indiscipline.
