Follow @9jaLife Wasnt’ quite sure what to expect when I pressed ‘play’ to view this video. I mean I know Sound Sultan has been in the game for 12 years, and Wyclef even longer than that, but still doesn’t mean this particular collabo would be anything extraordinary. Well, I was wrong. It’s actually an enjoyable song with a great beat, tempo and low budget(y) but interesting visuals nonetheless. Directed by Gini and Filmed in 480p (who does that in 2012), the video shows Sound Sultan partying it up in Lagos in what I presume is 2012, although his straw hat, metal rimmed glasses and paisley shirt indicate he might be more suited for the march past of the 1976 olympic games. Wyclef’s vocals are reminiscent of his vocal’s on 2003′s ‘Preacher’s Son’, which in my opinion is one of his best albums, so if you’re a Wyclef fan, you’re in for a treat. Not a song that is going to be a dance floor mega hit, but definitely one that you’ll probably have on a playlist and would definitely listen to when it comes on on the radio. Overall an enjoyable song and video, although I’m confused as to the shout outs to D’Banj, Ikechukwu and Tuface, complete with what seems to be a video insert from a totally different video. Oh well.
