Kemi, 48-year-old daughter of Second Republic Governor of old Oyo State, Omololu Olunloyo, is one of the most controversial Nigerians on social media, writes TEMITAYO FAMUTIMI
The way and manner Kemi, who describes herself as an outspoken and blunt international journalist, posts her semi-nude photos on social media and hurls abuses at both popular and unpopular Nigerians on social networks, takes many by surprise.
Kemi, who also prides herself as 'Madam Governor' and "Facebook Drama Queen," is notorious for her posts, which many on the social network find strange.
There is virtually any word too 'big' for her to roll as she has on many occasions blamed the level poverty of Nigerians on their inability to speak English.
"If your mum makes moin moin at 6pm, peels oranges all day on the streets or sells agbalumo during the day and your dad is my vulcaniser, they did not make an attempt to learn English on time. Never too late, my free English language classes are forming," she states on her Facebook fan page.
Kemi, who claims that Nigerian youths are ignorant and ought to be following in her footsteps, says many youths in the country were badly educated because their parents failed to send them abroad — the way her parents did.
She says, "In 1979/1980, your fucking Nigerian school teachers went on strike for almost the whole damn year and everyone sent their kids away. Tickets were N400 NYC-LOS-NYC, school fees were N2,000 a year. It was affordable.
"Some mumu parents were too slow and they could have sent their kids abroad then. Today the dumb masses blame my good education (three degrees) and their bad education.
"You poor people just need to be more alert on how to move fast on things. That is why Nigerian teachers are still the worst! Research your history, only 30 per cent were good — the ones that taught me at STC (St. Theresa's College, Ibadan."
According to her, she cares less about what people say about her. Her Facebook post on Wednesday, stated, "I have met people in my lifetime, done different things, fulfilled my bucket list…I care less about what Nigerians say about me. I'm rich and happy and I don't need any man."
Kemi, who denies being a lesbian, however, berates the Nigerian government for its stand on same sex marriage, saying she will be proud if her child is gay.
She states on her Facebook page, "I will be proud if my child is gay. Nigerians need to stop discriminating against gays. Stay away from Canada and America. I support gay anytime."
On March 23, she uploaded the photo of her undies spread on the line and many of her supposed fans on Facebook described the idea as primitive. One of them, Adeleye Osuolale, was so piqued that she asks, "Do you live in the bush?"
On Easter Monday, she describes Nigerian pastors and clerics as ''cultists'' but a fan on her page, Nike Adeleye, replies, "It's no point replying her. There are many people deported from the West and none makes fuss about it like this. There are so many things she can do with her life than being on Facebook insulting all sort of things."
When she posted her semi-nude pictures on Facebook on March 16, she said, "I have given Nigerians my side view, back view and now the front view you so desired.
"Fact still remains that at almost 49, most of you men don't have clean shaven flat stomach and smooth skinned women at home. I'm having fun in my country and I care less about anyone's comments."
An anonymous reader on lindaikeji.blogspot.com, asked, "What cheap publicity is she looking for at this age?" Another anonymous reader advises, "Kemi, you need to think about the direction your life is going."
On a thread opened for Kemi on nairaland.com, a female member of the forum, Slylg, says despite the noise she makes around that she makes money from her obscene and abusive post on social networks, "the money isn't worth the insult she receives from her fans."
Kemi also boasts being the "most educated woman in Nigeria." She adds, "I may be eccentric but that is part of being a fantastic mathematician…I am proud and arrogant as hell. People that meet me in person never win. They give up quick arguing with me."
The question on the lips of many people who follow her posts borders on why she has decided to take up an "un-Nigerian" posture on social networks.
