Enyimba coach Salisu Yusuf has appealed to the club's fans to continue to support the Aba side, promising that the team will end the Nigeria Professional Football League season on a high.
The People's Elephant, who won the CAF Champions league back-to-back in 2003 and 2004, have been under criticism from their fans after they picked only eight points from five games.
Yusuf urged the fans not to write the team off yet, saying they would improve as the season progresses.
"With a club like Enyimba, the pressure is always high, so we will try to be more effective in front of goal in our subsequent games, "he told the News Agency of Nigeria during the week.
"I am sure that by the time we play more matches in the league, you will see that our performance has improved.
"We are going to work hard to win at least a shield and be able to once again pick a continental ticket, so as to put smiles on the faces of our financiers and fans.
"Be patient with us, continue to give us your maximum support, so that we will be able to achieve our common good this soccer season."
