Oando Foundation has announced the appointment of Mr. Odein Ajumogobia (SAN) as the chairman of its Board of Trustees.
The Foundation is an independently registered charity arm of Oando Plc.
Other members of the board are Mrs. Fatima Wali-Abudurrahman, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, Dr. Otive Igbuzor, Mr. Chude Jideonwo and Ms. Tokunboh Durosaro.
A statement issued by the Foundation said, "Each trustee has been carefully selected and brings with them significant expertise in communications, education, sustainability, governance, and entrepreneurship.
"The trustees are specifically responsible for formulating and implementing the Foundation's strategic direction, fundraising, as well as the establishment of goals, and the monitoring and reporting of financial performance and programmes. Furthermore, the trustees will clearly articulate the Foundation's accomplishments, and will also have a collective responsibility to ensure ethical integrity and a compliance with legal standards."
Ajumogobia is an award-winning lawyer who commenced his career as an assistant lecturer at the Department of Commercial & Industrial Law, University of Lagos. He further practised law and rose to become the Rivers State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in 2003. He served as Nigeria's Minister of State for Petroleum in 2007 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2009-2011.
Mrs. Fatima Wali-Abudurrahman is the Chief Executive Officer of Filmo Group. She has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience, encompassing development, project management, architectural/design and consulting.
Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo is a distinguished scholar of the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and a former banker with over 16 years commercial and merchant banking experience; while Dr. Otive Igbuzor is the Executive Director the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (Centre LSD).
And while Mr. Chude Jideonwo is a lawyer and award-winning journalist; Ms. Tokunboh Durosaro is the Director of the Oando Foundation. Prior to working with the Foundation, she was the Chief Corporate Services Officer of Oando PLC.
