Just like Amiga says, its looking like its rampant these days cos we get to hear of it - thanks to social media and the fact that more and more people are speaking up about it.
B4 now, people will rather die than admit they have been raped. Rape is something sick and powerful people use to prove to themselves that they are powerful - hence the monarch raping that corper (rotten old man) and now these animalistic policemen.
I had a near rape as a teenager and it was almost perpertrated by a family member but i never told a soul. Its so so so so embarrassing! But if it were now, maybe i would have spoken up knowing that i would get counselling and stuff like that (there are NGOs that love cases like that)
