Police are holding a man in custody after his wife accused him of attempted murder.

According to the wife Elizabeth Gichiga, the husband came home late at night drunk. He later on sprinkled petrol and set the house a blaze.
They were awoken up by smoke which was chocking them. She rushed out with the kids where they spent the night in the cold.
Trouble started earlier when the man got involved in a love affair with their house-help. He even stopped fending for his family.
He is said to have been looking for different ways to finish his family so as to live peacefully with the maid.
The case is scheduled for hearing next week.
