Dapo 'D'banj' Oyebanjo says the much-awaited debut compilation album ‘D Kings Men from his DB Records will be released on March 30, 2013.
The pop star wrote on twitter ‘D Kings Men Album out March 30th. Presale from This Friday MAR 1 2013… Thank u all for the Long wait…as they say the patient dog eats the fattest bone. FOOD is ready DB RECORDS PRESENTS IT’s 1st OFFICIAL ALBUM.
The album will have the prominent presence of D’Banj, alongside other DB records acts: Kay-Switch and J-Sol plus production from in-house producers Jay Sleek and DeeVee.
The album was to be released last December after the official cover art was revealed. No reason was given for the shift in release date.
Acorrding to D'banj the album will also include the long-awaited 'Scapegoat' remix featuring multi-award winning rapper/producer and G.O.O.D. Music boss, Kanye West.
No talks about other surprise guest appearances on the album but a recent picture showing D’banj and Olamide in the studio hints that the Yoruba lyricist might also make the record.
The record label's popularity will be tested in this upcoming project from the newly formed DB Records as critics and music enthusiasts will compare their efforts with that of other crews like the Don Jazzy-led Mavin Records and Banky W-led EME.
