•I need his attention. Is that too much to ask of my husband? – Wife
When Linda and Chris Osazuwa, both of 2a Murhi Okunola Street in Ikeja tied the knot seven years ago, they never envisaged that their union would become this problematic. According to 38-year-old Chris, a car dealer who filed for a divorce early this year, his wife has been a pain in his neck for too long. He disclosed to the court how his wife fights everyone that comes to their house.
"She would even pick up my phone, call any female she sees in my contacts and shower them with abuses and threats of killing them if they ever call my number again.
I have lost several jobs because of her nasty attitude to people. Recently, I lost a contract worth over N8.5 million due to her stupid acts. I am tired of this marriage and will want it dissolved so that I can live my life in peace once again.
"Our seven-year union produced two boys, aged three and five-years-old respectively. I am ready to abide by whatever the court rules concerning custody of these children." Linda, however, said she is still interested in the marriage and will not want the union dissolved while denying all the al-legations levelled against her by her husband.
"I am a Christian and I believe in the sacredness of marriage. As such, I would not want the union dissolved. We made a 'for better, for worse' vow seven years ago and I am not ready to let that go down the drain. I am not a trouble maker but he doesn't give me the attention I deserve. He would rather spend his time out there with female friends instead of coming home to attend to his family.
Even in the middle of the night, his phones are always ringing and most of the time, the calls are usually from female friends. All I need is the attention the kids and I deserve.
Or is that too much to ask for?" stated Linda matter-of-factly. After listening to both parties, the court president, Mr. Sam Aluko adjourned the case to the November 11, 2013 for further hearing and possible reconciliation.
