Vice President Namadi Sambo on Tuesday met briefly with Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike, some Vice Chancellors and tertiary education stakeholders as part of efforts to end the industrial action by Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Wike led the team of stakeholders to the meeting, which held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
In the delegation were the Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission (NUC), Julius Okojie, and Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Isaac Adewole, among others.
No official statement was issued after the meeting, but some members of the delegation told anxious journalists that the Education Minister would brief the press.
Wike, however, declined to answer questions when he emerged from the Vice President's office, but joined other members of the team in brief consultations at the fore court of the Presidential Villa, before he hurriedly entered into his waiting car.
