Former Flying Eagles' captain Ramon Azeez says he's delighted with the golden chance to play in the La Liga in the new season following his club Almeria's promotion to the top flight last week. Almeria fought their way back to the La Liga via the second division playoffs win at Girona.
Almeria hammered fellow second division campaigners 4-0 on goal aggregate to secure their La Liga promotion ticket.
Azeez told National Mirror it would be a great boost in his career to play in the La Liga and reckoned he would be in a bigger shop window. Azeez, who played mainly in the B team, got his chance to play in the senior team this past season and said he was looking forward to playing regularly when the 2013/14 season begins late August.
"Playing in the La Liga is of course, the dream of every player and I would be most delighted to play among some of the best players in the world," Azeez said.
"Though, I didn't get to play enough games with the senior team last season, I hope things will change this season.
"It will be a great achievement for me personally because not too many African players get the chance to play.
"I will only continue to do well and God will do the rest for me."
