Alliance for Democracy, AD, has vowed to reclaim Lagos State from the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in the 2015 elections. Addressing a press conference yesterday, the chairman of the Lagos State chapter of AD, Chief Kola Ajayi, said his party has begun serious membership drive in the state ahead of the 2015 elections.
Ajayi said that the party would contest all elective positions in the polls within and outside Lagos. "By the grace of God, the AD is coming back to govern Lagos come 2015.
We are poised to win back electoral mandate, so that we can continue our solidarity with all the people of Lagos as witnessed in the state between 1999 and 2007.
Because God is a good friend of the poor, AD is coming back in 2015 to continue working for the hard working masses of Lagos. "Our renewed vigour for membership drive is to bring the AD back to its glorious days when it used to be the number one party in Lagos State.
The AD is the longest ruling party in the history of Lagos State. Apart from AD that governed Lagos for eight straight years between 1999 and 2007, no other democratically elected party has ever done that," he said.
