Prof. Ayo Olukotun's description of Prof Toyin Falola's achievement in his article last Friday is impressive and logical. However, the piece lost its merit in the second to the last paragraph when the writer berated the Obafemi Awolowo University for not keeping part with other universities in the world. Who is not aware of the callous under-funding that Nigeria's universities suffer? Would Falola have made it if he were to continue his career in Nigeria? The OAU is great and it is producing great graduates every year.
