Produce Lebanese suspects on Thursday —Court
Jun 10th 2013, 23:00

An Abuja Federal High Court on Monday ordered the State Security Service, the Inspector-General of Police and the Attorney-General of the Federation to produce the owner of Amigo Supermarket, Abuja, Mustapha Fawaz, and two other Lebanese suspected to have imported and stockpiled arms in the country before it on June 13, 2013.

The other suspects are Abdallah Tahini and Tala Ahmed Roda, who are currently in custody.

The presiding judge, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, gave the order following an ex-parte application brought by lawyers to the suspects, including Chief Robert Clarke, SAN, Ahmed Raja, SAN, and 12 others.

The Lebanese, who are suspected to run a cell of Lebanon-based Hezbollah terrorist group in Nigeria, had sued the SSS, the IGP and the AGF, challenging their arrest and continued detention.

After counsel for the applicants had moved the ex-parte motion, the judge ruled "that an order is hereby made directing the respondents particularly the 1st and 2nd respondents (SSS and IG) to produce the applicants in court on June 13, 2013."

He also ordered that "the applicants Motion on Notice dated the 3rd day of June, 2013 already served on the respondents is fixed for June 13 for hearing."
