Shooting Stars coach Akeem Busari has commended his team for beating Nembe City in their Nigeria Professional Football League match in Ibadan on Wednesday.
The Oluyole Warriors won the encounter 3-1 but Busari was blown away by the fighting spirit of the Bayelsa side.
"Their fighting spirit and marking skills are marvelous and they gave my boys a real tough time," he told the News Agency of Nigeria during the week.
"Even though 3SC secured three points, it is not an easy match for us as the enterprising Nembe boys resulted to a tip-tap play that tormented my boys."
NAN reports that 3SC opened the scoring in the 42nd minute through Taofeeq Adepoju, who also recorded the second in the 62nd minute.
Nembe pulled one back in the 78th minute through Okiki Musampa, while 3SC sealed victory in the 81st minute through Gabriel Adikwu.
The third goal threw the sports arena into jubilation as the 3SC fans were praised for securing the three points to shore up their position in the table.
