Emir of Kano: I have forgiven all

The Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero yesterday announced he has forgiven those who might have offended him knowingly or unknowingly, in the spirit of his 50th anniversary.

Bayero said "Today marked a special day in my life for attaining a unique years of 50 on the throne, it's indeed a day of great happiness for me, I want to use this unique opportunity to seek for forgiveness from all and sundry whom I may have offended directly or indirectly, as I have forgiven all'.

The emir in his special message to large crowd of friends, well-wishers, and other dignitaries during the Durbar at his palace yesterday to mark the 50th anniversary called on Nigerians to be God-fearing and abide by their religious tenets. "All praises are due to Allah for his mercy on us to witness this years. I received a large amount of support from the people of the state and it's wonderful and eventful to me".

Welcoming the guests earlier, the Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for the enormous support he gave the Emir to function well and his immense contribution towards the success of the celebration.

He prayed for a lasting peace and stability in the three states under the emergency rule and the country in general. In his address during the celebration, President Goodluck Jonathan, represented by Vice-President Namadi Sambo, while congratulating the Emir, urged for peaceful coexistence in the country.
