It will be a battle of wits in the 2013 GTB Heritage Cup when Methodist Girls High School confront Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls for the coveted trophy on Friday.

In the semi-finals played at the Onikan Stadium on Friday, Methodist girls were in cloud nine after beating Queen's College 2-1 to berth in the final.

Ansar-Ud-Deen Girls also got their ticket to the final after a deserved 2-0 victory over Adrao International School.

Ansar-Ud-Deen were better in all the department of the game with most of the action taking place in the box of the Adrao girls. The two goals were scored in each half of the encounter.

An excited defender of Methodist, Aminat Akokhia, said she was very happy that her team triumphed over the 'almighty' Queen's team.

She said, "I am so happy that we were able to overcome our opponents because when we discovered that we were going to meet them, we prepared very well to ensure that we emerge victorious. And today, this has come to pass as we also look forward to our opponent in the final."

For Faidat Owotade of Ansar-Ud-Deen, it was an easy win for her side. "I think we won this match easily because we were prepared to score more goals in the game. But the final is our target now because we watched the Methodist girls and we are sure they will fall in the final. We will go back home and start training well to be able to lift the trophy," she said.
