The Plateau Renaissance has lauded security agencies for the arrest of some principal suspects in the bombings of the United Nations building in Abuja and the St. Theresa's Catholic Church Madalla, Niger State.
Scores of people were killed in both incidents in 2011.
President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday at a church service in Abuja, said the principal suspects in the bombings were in police custody.
Executive Director of the group, Mr. Istifanus Gyang, on Wednesday in Jos, said the arrest was a welcome development.
He, however, urged security agencies to properly investigate the suspects' level of involvement and their sponsors.
He said, "We welcome with a great sense of relief the news of the arrest of the perpetrators of the bombing at the UN headquarters in Abuja and the Catholic Church in Madalla. We are happy that the security agencies are now alive to their responsibilities of protecting the ordinary man in this country.
"We however caution that this case should not be swept under the carpet because it will be a good opportunity to unravel the truth behind all the bombings in this country and their collaborators.
"We expect that it will not be the case of Kabiru Sokoto, who was said to have escaped a few days after he was arrested."
