Follow @9jaLife   The House of Representatives Committee on Public Account has threatened to issue an arrest warrant on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega. The lawmakers also threatened a similar feat on the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Mr Festus Odimegwu, for failing to appear before the committee. The members of the committee had asked the heads of the commissions to appear before them to defend anomalies in the accounts of the commissions as captured by the office of the auditor general of the federation. At a meeting, the chairman of the committee, Representative Solomon Adeola said the INEC boss has declined the invitations of the committee five times. He stressed that the committee would issue an arrest warrant on Mr Jega on Thursday and compel the Inspector General of Police to ensure that he appears before the committee at its next meeting on Wednesday 6th of February.
