Rabiu Ali scored twice to earn NPL champions Kano Pillars a 3-1 win over Lobi Stars in continuation of the Super 4 on Thursday.
Heartland lead the table with 4 points from two games, while Pillars are second with three points. Lobi are third with three points, while Rangers are last with just a point from two games.
Match Day 3 will see Heartland take on Lobi Stars in a repeat of the 2012 Federation Cup final, while league champions Pillars battle league runners-up Rangers.
In Thursday's second match, Lobi stunned Pillars by taking the lead with a seventh minute penalty goal by Benedict Atule.
Rabiu Ali then restored parity with a 18th minute strike and he gave Pillars the lead for the first time in the game two minutes later.
While Lobi were searching for an equaliser, midfielder Mustapha Musa increased Pillars lead to 3-1 in the 26th minute.
