Mitt, Ann Romney to vote in Massachusetts
Nov 5th 2012, 19:03

Lynchburg (AFP) – Mitt Romney and wife Ann will cast their ballots on election day Tuesday in Massachusetts, his campaign said, although it stayed mum on whether the White House hopeful will visit toss-up state Ohio on the same day.

“On Tuesday, Mitt and Ann Romney will vote at the Beech Street Center in Belmont, Massachusetts,” just after 8:30 am, the campaign said in a brief statement.

President Barack Obama last month became the first president to cast an early vote, flying to his home town Chicago in the midst of a multi-state campaign blitz 12 days before election day.

Romney, who is voting in largely liberal Massachusetts where an Obama victory is all but assured, opted to vote in a more traditional polling station.

The Republican nominee will spend Tuesday evening in Boston where he is hosting an election watch party. That leaves the bulk of the day still open, and US media including Fox News have reported that Romney will travel to Ohio, perhaps the ultimate battleground state in the presidential race.

Campaign aides have promised an updated schedule for Tuesday but as of early afternoon it had yet to be released.

Obama and Romney spent the weekend and Monday criss-crossing the nation in a mad dash for votes in key battleground states. In a sign of Ohio’s importance, both men converge on the Midwestern state later Monday.
