Professor Wole Soyinka; Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos; the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar; Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, former IGP Mike Okiro, and others, yesterday, said the cashless economy policy would assist in tackling corruption and other security challenges.

They spoke at a two-day workshop with the theme: The Dynamics of Cashless Economy and the Emerging Methods of Financial Crimes, organized by the Special Fraud Unit, SFU,  in Lagos.

Prof. Soyinka, who was represented by Mr. Falana, said in a paper he presented that Nigeria had come of age to implement the cashless economy system, which he said would reduce the spate of  illegal flow of  cash within the economy.

Soyinka said Nigeria had sufficient laws to deal with the issue of corruption than many other countries.
