BENIN—A total of 8,863 students of University of Benin, UNIBEN, will be graduating from the institution in its 38th convocation scheduled for tomorrow.
This is coming at a time the university is also raising an alarm over the erosion menace in the institution and appealed to the Federal Government, the Niger Delta Development Commission and others for help.
Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Osayuki Oshodin, who disclosed this to newsmen during a press briefing heralding the school's Convocation and 42nd founders day ceremonies, said of the 8,863 students, 57 made First Class, 1,502 Second Class Upper, 3,765, Second Class Lower, 838, Third Class, Five with Pass and 599 with Diplomas.
Others includes 721 in unclassified degrees, 226, Post Graduate, 1080; Masters and 72 students would bag their Doctorate Degrees.
As part of the efforts to reposition the institution, Prof. Oshodin disclosed that the management of the university had established partnership with tertiary institutions in five foreign countries and credible local institutions to enable it maintain its leading position in the country and African continent.
