Now, this news is certainly obnoxious to to the very meaning of the word. I mean, only in Nigeria do you send a man to jail for stealing a goat while the real thieves who are carting away millions from the nation's treasury are walking the streets (sorry, driving exotic cars) of Naija free.
According to Punch, a middle-aged man , Wasiu Alabi has been sentenced to six months in prison by an Osogbo Magistrate Court for stealing a goat belonging to his neighbour, Mrs. Olanike Adedokun. He committed the offence at Halleluyah Estate, Egbedore LGA of Osun State on June 5, 2012 at about 12noon.
